STUKA SQUADRON "Zeppelin" album details. CD Metal On Metal 2023

Before I put the cd into my stereo, I wasn’t too sure what to expect from these guys from London, UK. Sure, I was surprised by this album`s crazy concept idea; on the flip side, it took me some time to properly “submerse” into its content and appreciate the fecundity of these songs. Because, I claim, ”Zeppelin” is full, to the brim, with energy. This is a very varied, very complex album in the heavy/power metal vein. If I were to look for any similar band(s) I would point at BLIND GUARDIAN.

Maybe because of the very original, unique vocal of Dave Harley?

His way of singing has a truly extraordinary range. Its tone resembles Hans Jürgen Kürsch`s style from the above-mentioned BLIND GUARDIAN. There are some really minute similarities to IRON MAIDEN`s music – this is not an unfounded accusation, but a truth. And these similarities make this album even better. Guitar solos are top-notch, lock stock and barrel. “Zeppelin” is S.S.`s second album and these guys did take their time recording it: their debut album “Tales of the Ost” was out in 2011 - ages ago, it seems.

Yes, these two albums were recorded years apart, but one thing is sure here.

The music on their both full-length recordings is very rich in original, unique sounds. Indeed, “Zeppelin” is a very successful output. There are very few bands who can, these days, churn out an exceptionally good concept album – something that STUKA SQUADRON managed to achieve.

The more we explore this album the more we experience new elements that we may have previously missed. Yes, an abundance of these surprising elements turns this album into a very interesting listen.

You simply cannot get bored with these sounds, no way! Therefore, it is highly recommended one spend some more time t properly exploring the richness that this full-length recording has to offer. Well, unless you already have, I think you guys should get this album. I guarantee you a truly enchanting experience.
